As a member of the River-Lab at UC Berkeley, I studied the impacts of environmental change on endangered species. Specifically, I sought to understand how drought influences the breeding habitat of the California red-legged frog and steelhead and coho salmon.

I measured the volume, oxygenation, and depth of pools across Mount Diablo State Park, which houses crucial habitat for amphibians and fish. I also conducted a literature review of the conditions required for frog and fish habitation, which I presented as part of the Mary Bowerman Science and Research Colloquium.

I also had the opportunity to conduct field work at Sagehen Creek Field Station as part of a separate River-Lab project, where I collected biomass samples, measured groundwater depth, and retrieved camera trap data.
